Doctor beats cancer using his own treatment

<p>Australian doctor Richard Scolyer has been declared cancer free, thanks to a first-of-its-kind treatment he helped to develop.</p> <p>The 56-year-old professor, who has been recognised around for the world for his pioneering melanoma research, was diagnosed with aglioblastoma, a terminal kind of brain tumour, after suffering a seizure last June.</p> <p>After receiving his devastating diagnosis, the doctor agreed to be a "guinea pig" to undergo a world-first cancer treatment that he had a hand in developing. </p> <p>Now the world-leading pathologist and Australian of the Year has given a remarkable update, stating he is cancer free.</p> <p>“I had brain #MRI scan last Thursday looking for recurrent #glioblastoma (&/or treatment complications). I found out yesterday that there is still no sign of recurrence. I couldn’t be happier!!!!!” the professor shared on X, formerly known as Twitter.</p> <p>Before Dr Scolyer was diagnosed with cancer, he was fit and active, and had been hiking mountains in Poland with his wife.</p> <p>“I felt normal. I didn’t have any symptoms at all,” he told <em>A Current Affair</em> earlier this year.</p> <p>Just days after, he suffered a devastating seizure, and when he returned to Australia, underwent a series of tests which resulted in a diagnosis with glioblastoma – an aggressive and terminal form of brain cancer that would give him a average of 14 months to live. </p> <p>Teaming up with his friend and medical oncologist Georgina Long, Scolyer decided to undergo the new treatment, which came with a long list of risks. </p> <p>“No one knew what it was going to do, people were nervous because it could actually cause my life to end more quickly. But when you’re faced with certain death, it’s a no-brainer for me,” said Professor Scolyer, who also hoped the treatment would make a difference for other cancer patients.</p> <p>Dr Scolyer also underwent surgery to remove as much of his tumour as possible, and in April, he updated his social media followers to share that10 months after his diagnosis, his tumour had not returned. </p> <p>Speaking to ABC’s <em>Australian Story</em> at the time, Professor Scolyer said he was “blown away” by the results.</p> <p>“This is not what I expected. <p>Richard Wilkins has become a grandfather for the third time! </p> <p>The entertainment reporter took to Instagram to share the joyous news on Sunday, with a sweet photo of him holding his granddaughter. </p> <p>"What an overwhelming joy to meet the youngest member of our little family Amira Jean. What a perfect little princess you are, absolutely divine! Comedian and sitcom star dies at age 76

<p>Legendary comedian and sitcom star Richard Lewis has passed away at the age of 76. </p> <p>The <em>Curb Your Enthusiasm</em> actor, who has been candid in recent years about his struggle with Parkinson's, died of a heart attack, according to his publicist. </p> <p><em>Curb Your Enthusiasm</em> creator Larry David shared an emotional tribute to his friend and co-star, sharing how the men had been friends their whole lives. </p> <p>“Richard and I were born three days apart in the same hospital and for most of my life he’s been like a brother to me,” David wrote in a statement Wednesday, shared by HBO.</p> <p>“He had that rare combination of being the funniest person and also the sweetest. But today he made me sob and for that I’ll never forgive him.”</p> <p>In April 2023, Lewis took to X, formerly Twitter, to explain his ongoing health issues, sharing how he had undergone a series of surgeries.</p> <p>“Three and a half years ago, I was in the middle of a tour and then I finally ended it with a show I said ‘You know, I’m at the top of my game, after 50 years almost I’m just gonna call it quits.’”</p> <p>“Then, out of the blue, the s**t hit the fan. I had four surgeries back to back to back to back. It was incredible, I couldn’t believe it. It was bad luck but it’s life, you know?”</p> <p>“I had back surgery, then I had a shoulder surgery, then I had a shoulder replacement surgery, and a hip replacement. So, you know, there was much where I was just focusing on [physical therapy].”</p> <p>He added that amidst his physical health battle, he had received a devastating neurological diagnosis. </p> <p>“On top of all that, two years ago, I started walking a little stiffly, I was shuffling my feet and I went to a neurologist and they gave me a brain scan and I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.”</p> <p>While being candid about his health problems, Lewis also became known for his dark jokes about his battles with addiction and neurosis. </p> <p><em>Image credits: Getty Images </em></p>

Sir Richard Branson in serious bike crash

<p>Richard Branson, the adventurous billionaire and founder of Virgin Group, is no stranger to pushing the limits. However, his latest escapade – a biking mishap on Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands – left him with shocking injuries, adding to a long list of near-death experiences throughout his life.</p> <p>In a recent Instagram post, Branson shared the aftermath of his bike crash, recounting how he flew off his bike after hitting a pothole on the picturesque island.</p> <p>The accident resulted in severe cuts on his elbow and a haematoma on his hip. Remarkably, despite the intensity of the crash, Branson escaped without any broken bones, though the same could not be said for his biking companion, Alex Wilson, who also took a spill but thankfully emerged relatively unscathed.</p> <p>"Took quite a big tumble while cycling in Virgin Gorda a little while ago!" Branson wrote. "I hit a pothole and crashed hard, resulting in another hematoma on my hip and a nasty cut elbow, but amazingly nothing broken.</p> <p>"We were cycling with Alex Wilson, who fell after me, but thankfully he was ok as well. Even the inaugural test flight of Virgin Atlantic in 1984 wasn't without drama, as an engine exploded mid-air.</p> <p>Skydiving accidents, near misses with hot air balloons, and daring stunts like wing-walking on a Virgin Atlantic plane or jumping off the Palms Casino in Las Vegas further illustrate Branson's willingness to embrace risk in pursuit of thrills.</p> <p>Despite the multitude of close calls, Branson maintains a resilient spirit, viewing each brush with danger as an opportunity for growth and appreciation for life. His Instagram post following the bike crash in Virgin Gorda captures this sentiment, as he reflects on his luck and gratitude for staying active and healthy.</p> <p>For Branson, it appears that the thrill of the unknown far outweighs the comfort of caution. Barry Humphries’ daughter explains absence from her father’s memorial

<p dir="ltr">Barry Humphries' daughter has explained why she didn’t attend her late father’s state memorial service which was held in Sydney on Friday. </p> <p dir="ltr">The entertainer’s youngest daughter Emily wasn’t in attendance at the ceremony, with many believing her decision not to attend was due to Richard Wilkins hosting the event.</p> <p dir="ltr">The Nine entertainment reporter forged ahead with hosting the memorial, despite alleged <a href="https://oversixty.com.au/health/caring/the-unfunny-fallout-richard-wilkins-causes-bizarre-boycott-of-barry-humphries-memorial">objections</a> from members of Humphries’ family. </p> <p dir="ltr">Despite the rumours, Emily has now cleared up why she didn’t attend the service, taking to Facebook to share a lengthy post explaining her actions.</p> <p dir="ltr">She wrote, “I want to be loud and very clear. I am grateful to both Richard and the organisers for their part in this send-off.”</p> <p dir="ltr">“Despite some complexities in my relationship with my father, I was proud of his achievements and think a public send-off is important for both him and his public.”</p> <p dir="ltr">She continued, “Privacy and intimacy were missing elements in my relationship with him so public comments have really bothered me. That they are inaccurate and hurtful to another fired me up.”</p> <p dir="ltr">Emily went on to say she didn't attend her estranged father's state memorial because “they're not my thing” and she was “away working on a film project in Sri Lanka”.</p> <p dir="ltr">She went on to assure her followers that she did attend her father’s private funeral in Bowral, which was held in April at the home of artist Tim Storrier. </p> <p dir="ltr">Emily attended the service, which was closed to the public, with her stepmother Lizzie Spender, sister Tess, brothers Oscar and Rupert, and the comic's grandchildren.</p> <p dir="ltr">Enily and her father had reportedly been estranged for over 20 years, and only patched up their relationship in the months before his death. </p> <p dir="ltr">The late comedian's state memorial was held at Sydney Opera House on Friday, December 15th, following his tragic death in April. </p> <p dir="ltr"><em>Image credits: Facebook / Getty Images</em></p>

The unfunny fallout: Richard Wilkins causes bizarre boycott of Barry Humphries memorial

<p>In what can only be described as a plot twist worthy of its own sitcom, the <a href="https://www.oversixty.com.au/health/caring/free-tickets-up-for-grabs-to-barry-humphries-state-memorial" target="_blank" rel="noopener">memorial service for Australian comedy icon Barry Humphries</a> is shaping up to be more dramatic than the very finest of soap operas. </p> <p>The cause of this uproar? None other than the involvement of Richard Wilkins, the silver fox of entertainment reporting, as the MC/host of the event.</p> <p>It seems Wilkins' mere presence has caused such distress among some of Humphries' nearest and dearest that they've decided to boycott the memorial altogether. </p> <p>One of Humphries' longtime friends, Professor Ross Fitzgerald, <a href="https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/entertainment/family-friends-slam-richard-wilkins-as-mc-for-barry-humphries-memorial/news-story/b6e4dd1ddcd20237a4b88e83cac40e33" target="_blank" rel="noopener">expressed his disbelief</a>, saying, "Like a number of Barry's friends, I was amazed and aghast that Channel 9 personality Richard Wilkins was chosen to be the MC at this important event, Barry's memorial." </p> <p>Fitzgerald continued, "I find it very hard to believe that members of the family and the children, for example, would have approved this."</p> <p>And now, while the upcoming memorial turns into a high-stakes game of 'Who Wants to Avoid Richard Wilkins?', Sydney Confidential went on to report that while Humphries' widow Lizzie Spender played a role in organising the service, Humphries' daughter Emily was not consulted and won't be attending. </p> <p>But Wilkins has his fair share of defenders. Australian TV producer Mark Llewellyn took to Twitter to proclaim, "Humphries would have abhorred these snobs," adding, "Shove a gladioli up their boycotting bottoms!" That's one way to settle a family dispute.</p> <p>Meanwhile, Seven entertainment reporter Peter Ford, in an attempt to play peacemaker, tweeted, "It's all very unfortunate and obviously not Richard's fault. Sir Richard Branson shocks 150 Virgin passengers with free $7000 cruises

<p>Sir Richard Branson has shocked passengers onboard a domestic flight by gifting all travellers a free cruise. </p> <p>There were 150 passengers onboard a flight from Melbourne to Hobart when the Virgin Group founder dialled in via FaceTime to share the exciting news. </p> <p>Speaking over the PA system, Branson told travellers of the arrival of Virgin Voyages' in Australia, with those onboard making the same trip as the upcoming maiden voyage from Melbourne to Hobart on December 11th. </p> <p>“We’re counting down to Virgin Voyages’ arrival Down Under – setting sail the Virgin way with adults-only itineraries across Australia and New Zealand. <p>Richard Wilkins is ready to embrace the "Granddaddy Pappa Bear" role once again, after announcing that his son Nick and wife Bree are expecting their first child together. </p> <p>The veteran TV presenter, 69, told <em>Today Extra </em>that his son is expecting a daughter sometime in April, and he couldn't hide his excitement. </p> <p>"Our little family is very excited!" he told the <em>Today Extra</em> hosts.</p> <p>"I just wanted to say and share it with everybody that my beautiful son Nick, who got married to beautiful Bree, they got married in March, they're having a little baby girl," the proud grandfather gushed. </p> <p>"That's not Dicky, that's Granddaddy Pappa Bear to you!"</p> <p>"I just wanted to share that. King Wally Lewis' devastating diagnosis

<p>Rugby league legend Wally Lewis, known as "The King" for his tough football persona, has made a heartbreaking revelation about his health.</p> <p>In an exclusive interview with <em>60 Minutes</em>, the 63-year-old Queenslander disclosed that he has been diagnosed with probable chronic traumatic encephalopathy, or CTE.</p> <p>Despite his physical fitness, Lewis is experiencing the distressing effects of this progressive and fatal condition, which can be caused by repeated blows to the head. CTE leads to memory loss, behavioural issues, and a decline in basic cognitive skills. Fans who still follow Lewis' work as a beloved media personality and sports commentator were shocked by this news.</p> <p>“For a lot of the sport guys, I think a lot of us take on this belief that we’ve got to prove how tough we are. How rugged," Lewis said on the program. "And if we put our hands up and seek sympathy, then we're going to be seen as the real cowards of the game. But we’ve got to take it on and admit that the problems are there.”</p> <p>Throughout his illustrious rugby league career spanning three decades, Lewis captained Australia and inspired Queensland, winning a record eight man of the match awards in his State of Origin career. He later transitioned to a successful career in sports commentary. However, in 2006, Lewis suffered an epileptic seizure during a live broadcast, leading to brain surgery in 2007 to control the seizures.</p> <p>The evidence of Lewis' brain deterioration is evident in his scans compared to those of a healthy brain. Leading neurologist Dr. Rowena Mobbs, who has observed an increasing number of former players suffering from CTE, believes Lewis' symptoms align with the condition.</p> <p>"It's devastating," Mobbs said on the program. "It's hard to see these players go through it. The last thing I want to do is diagnose them with dementia."</p> <p>While definitive diagnosis can only occur through a brain autopsy after death, Mobbs is 90% certain about Lewis' condition based on her expertise.</p> <p>Although some former players are contemplating legal action and compensation claims against the NRL and AFL, Lewis has decided against such measures. He remains grateful for the game he loved and the opportunity to have played it.</p> <p>“I loved the game that I played," he said. "I felt privileged to have played it, and to have been given that chance. When you go out there and you’re wearing the representative jerseys, particularly the one for Australia, you feel ten feet tall and bulletproof. Well, you might think you are. But you’re not.”</p> <p>Lewis plans to leave a legacy beyond the football field by donating his brain for research to create awareness of CTE. He emphasises that his intention is not to seek sympathy but rather support for those affected by the disease.</p> <p>In response to Lewis' revelation, Dementia Australia offers support, information, education, and counselling for those dealing with similar challenges.</p> <p>The NRL has taken steps to address head injuries and concussions, implementing comprehensive head-injury policies and procedures in alignment with world's best practices. <p dir="ltr">Richard Wilkins is the man with a black book of celebrity contacts so it’s no surprise that he’s friends with rock legend Sir Bob Geldof.</p> <p dir="ltr"><em>The Boomtown Rats</em> frontman was being interviewed for his own accomplishments, and the upcoming launch of his own independent radio station Disrupt Radio when he interrupted the interview to catch up with his old mate.</p> <p dir="ltr">"Lovely to see you, you're looking well I have to say," Wilkins told Geldof.</p> <p dir="ltr">Who replied: “I’m good how are you”, which Wilkins quickly responded to before asking his question.</p> <p dir="ltr">After answering a few questions about his upcoming gigs with <em>The Boomtown Rats</em>, the rock legend couldn’t hold his excitement of seeing his old mate and asked Wilkins how he was, for the second time.</p> <p dir="ltr">"How are things with you?" <p>Richard Wilkins has opened up on his memorable interview with media legend Michael Parkinson, and how he managed to impress the interview king with one simple question. </p> <p>From a young age, Wilkins was in awe of Parkinson's interviewing ability, watching his every show with his parents during his childhood. </p> <p>Over the course of his astonishing career, Parkinson, a broadcast journalist and author, had interviewed more than 2,000 people. </p> <p>An inspiration to Dickie, the Nine journalist admitted that "in a weird way" watching the media icon propelled him to want to get up close and personal with some of those people as well.</p> <p>When Wilkins got the chance to sit down with Parkinson in 2019, he said the two just "clicked", making it one of his most memorable interviews.</p> <p>"I guess the older type people, who I've grown up appreciating what they do, I think they get a sense that you're not necessarily a fawning fan, but you certainly know what you're talking about and are up for a chat," Wilkins told <a href="https://celebrity.nine.com.au/latest/richard-wilkins-interview-michael-parkinson-dickies-diaries-exclusive/f7fde9cc-49bd-4dcb-a742-5ab8f0f9d563" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><em>9Honey Celebrity</em></a>.</p> <p>During their conversation, Wilkins impressed Parkinson with a question he had never been asked before. </p> <p>"I said, 'So, how important is that first question when you're sitting down opposite someone and you're trying to break the ice and get into their heads?' <p>While Richard Wilkins has been hosting Nine's coverage of the Oscars red carpet for two decades, one year sticks in his memory as being particularly unforgettable. </p> <p>In 2001, Wilkins' second year hosting, he rubbed shoulders with the Hollywood elite on the red carpet before they went inside for the all important ceremony. </p> <p>He spoke with actor Russell Crowe, who later won the Best Actor award for his performance in <em>Gladiator</em>. </p> <p>Following the win, Wilkins and Crowe joined forces for the celebrations. </p> <p>"I was fortunate enough to be hanging out with him and his posse that night, roaring around town," the journalist remembers with a cheeky grin on his face.</p> <p>"When you win an Oscar, on Oscar night, the city is yours," says Dickie, before revealing they were driven around Los Angeles in two huge black SUVs to endless parties.</p> <p>"Popping into Elton John's party and going here and there and everywhere."</p> <p>Despite the fun and chaos of the afterparty, Wilkins explained that a lot of work goes into the coveted hosting gig. </p> <p>"I would spend weeks beforehand ringing all the publicists and telling them where we were gonna be," he said.</p> <p>Wilkins also shared that there a lot of people working behind the scenes on the big night, with producers feeding him information in an ear-piece before he conducts his interviews. </p> <p>"Having producers in my ear and saying Nicole's just arrived, she's wearing a blue dress. I've done a few interviews with her. Richard Wilkins' heartbreaking interview regret

<p dir="ltr">Richard Wilkins has revealed the one heartbreaking question he wished he had asked Charlotte Dawson the day before her passing.</p> <p dir="ltr">In a recent interview for his series <em>Dickie's Diaries</em> the usually upbeat Nine Entertainment reporter sat in a moment of silence before he answered the interviewer’s question: What’s the one question you wished you’d asked?</p> <p dir="ltr">"The one question I wish I'd asked was to my friend," Wilkins began, repeating the question, pausing briefly before saying her name "Charlotte Dawson".</p> <p dir="ltr">"Charlotte used to come on the Today show a lot.</p> <p dir="ltr">"She always used to come into my dressing room at the old Channel Nine studios in Sydney. We'd always have a good old chat about stuff,” he said.</p> <p dir="ltr">He shared the conversation they had in February 2014 and the moment that has weighed on his mind since.</p> <p dir="ltr">"She said 'what are you doing on the weekend' and I said 'I'm going up to see Bruce Springsteen play in the Hunter Valley. It's going to be fantastic', I said. 'I can't wait to get up there',"</p> <p dir="ltr">"Charlotte took her life the next day which still makes my... shivers go up my spine... I had a spare ticket and I wish I'd said to her 'do you want to come?'</p> <p dir="ltr">"You just wonder whether, had she got out of the space she was in, taken a leap of faith, maybe things would have turned out differently."</p> <p dir="ltr">The New Zealand-Australian model and TV personality was found dead in her home in Woolloomooloo on February 22, 2014.</p> <p dir="ltr">Dawson had depression for over a decade and was only 47 when she passed. <p>Entertainment reporter Richard Wilkins has revealed some of the more challenging celebrities he’s dealt with in an interview.</p> <p>Simply Red frontman Mick Hucknall made the top of the list.</p> <p>Wilkins shared in an interview with the <em>Sydney Morning Herald</em> that the English singer, 62, is “probably the rudest person” he’d ever interviewed.</p> <p>Wilkins said he had been asked to present Hucknall with a gold record at a record company function while Simply Red were touring Australia.</p> <p>“Shook his hand, everything went all right,” Wilkins said.</p> <p>The problem came the following day, when Wilkins, who was then working for MTV Australia, arrived at the since-demolished Sydney Entertainment Centre to interview Hucknall ahead of Simply Red’s concert that evening.</p> <p>“I said, ‘G’day Mick’, held out my hand. He says, ‘I shook your hand last night, I don’t need to do it again’,” Wilkins revealed.</p> <p>“He’s subsequently divulged that he used to hit it pretty hard back in the day, so I don’t know whether he was on good stuff the night before. I remember my boss saying to me that day, ‘If anyone ever treats you like that again, just walk out the door’.”</p> <p>British actor Hugh Grant made the cut on Wilkins’ list, “I’ve always got on OK with Hugh Grant, but he can be very prickly,” he explained.</p> <p>“And he’ll quite willingly tell you that the characters he plays are much nicer than the person he actually is. I MCed a publicity tour that he and Liz Hurley did. They were quite difficult to work with. He can be a prickly one.”</p> <p>Not mentioned in the interview was Wilkins’ 2003 interview with music icon Prince, which he had previously named as the worst celebrity interview in his 2011 memoir Black Ties, Red Carpets, Green Rooms.</p> <p>Wilkins went backstage at Prince’s Melbourne show to interview him and recalled he was told by Prince’s entourage that the exchange could only proceed if Wilkins also interviewed every member of Prince’s band, and included them in the TV segment.</p> <p>He reluctantly accepted, but later found the band members weren’t too keen on a chat, including Prince.</p> <p>“Ah f**k! "Makes me vomit": Richard Dreyfuss slams new Hollywood diversity laws

<p>Richard Dreyfuss has taken a stand against new diversity laws that will come into affect at next year's Oscars, saying the new rules make him "vomit".</p> <p>The legendary actor condemned the change to the standards, claiming the laws are trying to legislate people's feelings. </p> <p>Appearing on PBS show <em>Firing Line with Margaret Hoover</em>, a fired-up Dreyfuss said, “This is an art form. It’s also a form of commerce, and it makes money. But it’s an art.”</p> <p>“And no one should be telling me as an artist that I have to give in to the latest, most current idea of what morality is.”</p> <p>Mr Dreyfuss, who famously played Matt Hooper in the 1975 horror film <em>Jaws</em>, went on to say that minorities should not be "catered to" in the arts, but rather awards given based on merit.</p> <p>“What are we risking? Are we really risking hurting people’s feelings? You can’t legislate that. And– you have to let life be life. And I’m sorry, I don’t think that there is a minority or a majority in the country that has to be catered to like that,” he said.</p> <p>With the rules set to come into effect in 2024, a film will have to meet certain diversity and inclusion standards in four different categories set out by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to be considered for “Best Picture” at the Oscars.</p> <p>The categories, each pertaining to different aspects of a movie’s production, would require new diversity measures to be met through “On-screen Representation,” “Creative Leadership and Project Team,” “Industry Access and Opportunities,” and “Audience Advancement.”</p> <p>“On-screen Representation” is classified as at least one lead character from an under-represented racial or ethnic group, which the Academy defines as women, people of colour, people who identify as LGBTQ+ or people with disabilities, with the new standards meant to encourage diversity on and off the screen.</p> <p>Dreyfuss continued his rant about the new standards, saying the rules will limit what roles actors are able to take, and simply described outdated racist ideals as forms of "art".</p> <p>“Am I being told that I will never have a chance to play a black man? Is someone else being told that if they’re not Jewish, they shouldn’t play the Merchant of Venice? Are we crazy? Do we not know that art is art? This is so patronising. <p>Aussie icon John Farnham is doing “OK” and is recovering well following his hospitalisation due to a chest infection, Nine’s Entertainment Editor Richard Wilkins said.</p> <p>Wilkins appeared on the <em>Today</em> show to speak about a new authorised documentary following Farnham’s life, and he shared that the beloved singer was taking strength from loving friends and fans’ well wishes.</p> <p>"John is doing OK. He had this chest infection off the back of the tumour removal out of his mouth but he is doing OK, under medical supervision on the road to recovery," Wilkins told <em>Today</em>.</p> <p>"But it is a long road. Beloved singing star reveals condition that may force early retirement

<p>Scottish singer and songwriter Lewis Capaldi has opened up about his battle with Tourette’s syndrome, admitting it could lead him into early retirement.</p> <p>The <em>Before You Go</em> singer, 26, has shared details of his condition with fans in the past, making light of it online, even going viral on TikTok for how he handles his on-stage tics.</p> <p>Speaking to The Sun, the 26-year-old revealed it is a “very real possibility” he will have to put the mic down if his condition deteriorates.</p> <p>"It's triggered by stress, anxiety, and excitement. Basically, any strong emotion, you're f—ed," Capaldi, who was diagnosed with Tourette’s in 2022, said.</p> <p>"There are times it has been really bad and I've wondered whether I can continue to do this with the stress, anxiety, and Tourette's. It all comes as a direct result of doing this job.”</p> <p>Capaldi, renowned online for his self-deprecating sense of humour and cheeky commentary, said he has worried that the crowd may mistake his tics for drug use.</p> <p>He also revealed he may have to stop making music and performing if the condition progresses.</p> <p>"This isn't drugs, and I've had that accusation on nights out. People have asked me directly, 'Are you on drugs, is it cocaine?'" He explained.</p> <p>"If it got to a point where my quality of life was drastically diminished, I'd just have to quit.”</p> <p>Capaldi’s powerhouse voice has thrown him into the mix with UK greats including Sir Elton John and Ed Sheeran.</p> <p>He said that John has been a pillar of support during his struggles with anxiety, telling The Sun that the <em>Rocket Man</em> singer emails him regularly.</p> <p>In early 2023, a clip from Capaldi’s concert made waves online after fans helped him finish the song as he experienced a tic attack on stage.</p> <p>Capaldi was singing his perhaps most famous song, Someone You Loved, at a concert in Germany on February 21.</p> <p>Audience members were quick to notice the singer struggling, so they continued the song from where he left off, with him holding onto the microphone in an attempt to compose himself.</p> <p>In 2022, Capaldi shared his diagnosis with fans on Instagram.</p> <p>"I do the shoulder twitch a lot. And you see underneath every TikTok and stuff, people are like, 'Why is he twitching?', which is fine. Curiosity is fine. I get it," he said.</p> <p>"I haven't really learned much about it. I'm learning. I've got Botox on my shoulder to stop it moving. It worked for a bit," he said.</p> <p>"The worst thing about it is when I'm excited, I get it; when I'm stressed, I get it; when I'm happy, I get it. It happens all the time.</p> <p>"Some days it's more painful than others and some days it's less painful. It looks a lot worse than it is. "Not guilty": Richard Wilkins addresses fake arrest photos

<p>Richard Wilkins has spoken out about a series of photos that have gone viral online, depicting his apparent arrest. </p> <p>The entertainment report set the record straight while chatting to 2GB's Ben Fordham, saying the photos were fake. </p> <p>"I have never been arrested," Wilkins said. </p> <p>He went on to say he has never been in such trouble with the law, claiming the images were either photoshopped or AI-generated. </p> <p>"I got arrested in London yesterday," Wilkins sarcastically told Fordham, referring to the image which shows him being grabbed by two police officers. </p> <p>"I don't know what to do about it, this has been going on for some time," he continued, noting how he has no idea why or how he's been put at the centre of "all this", with "this" including a false story circulating that he's been charged by the Bank of Australia for giving out incorrect financial advice live on air alongside Karl Stefanovic on <em>Today</em>.</p> <p>"It never happened," Wilkins said of the Bank of Australia scam, noting how the transcript of the false <em>Today</em> segment provided "looks really legit" but the fabricated conversation did not actually occur.</p> <p>"It's complete BS," Wilkins said. "The thought of anyone investing in anything because I was recommending it is quite disturbing, and I'd hate to think that that was happening."</p> <p>He went on to say that his name and face have been used for several months to try and fool people, with both staffers from Facebook and the Nine Network lawyers have been involved for months to resolve the issue, but it's only "getting worse."</p> <p>"It's a pain in the derrière," Wilkins said.</p> <p>Wilkins' discussion with Fordham comes days after his son, Christian Wilkins, denied his father's arrest took place.</p> <p>"For those wondering, yes these posts are fake," Christian wrote on his Instagram Story last week.</p> <p>He joked, "There's no way [Wilkins] would be seen not wearing skinny jeans."</p> <p><em>Image credits: Facebook</em></p>
